Not sure why “flavor” matters. The product is much better than the plastic version I previously used. Only complaint is that the coffee would cool too much while pouring. Problem was solved by leaving the pour-over on top of the kettle while the water boiled to pre-heat the pour over.

Mine arrived broken, and I returned it, but that's not why I am leaving this 3 star review. The three stars are for a few things. One is the color looked nothing like the photo. Antique Green was alluring until it showed up a very dark murky overripe avocado color.

Also, I bought the "large" size, which is what I received, but it's not a large. It says it will take a #2 or #4 filter, but it's only really sized for a #2 to fit well. The smaller dripper would likely require a #1 filter for the best fit.

On a positive note (the third star) I liked the design and shape of the dripper cone/basket itself: the two holes, their size and spacing, and the general size, shape/contours and depth of it fit my #2 filter quite well. I would love it if this came with a better handle, accurate color and larger circular base.

I did not like the design of the ladle type handle. The curve of the handle is not pronounced enough, and does not sit comfortably or securely in the intended grip of your thumb and forefinger. The weight of the dripper is not balanced by the grip of the handle. It feels like it wants to slip out from my grasp and fall, and at some point I'm sure it would.

Finally, the shape of the base is just weird and not necessarily aesthetically appealing. While it doesn't affect performance, it still gives you the appearance that it will, which is a quibble, but hey - if you don't like the look of something, it follows that eventually you might not like the thing itself.

Great coffee dripper

Using for about 2 years now, absolutely love it. It rinses easily and goes into dishwasher whenever there's rack space. I love the simplicity of dripper+filter+mug coffee maker. The color choices are nice, especially the antique green and the coffee brown (ahhh, 70s). This was my first coffee dripper and I came back to buy a second backup one, in case the first one ever breaks.

Some people have mentioned they're too fragile. I'm very careful with mine, but did knock the upper rim against a mug one time in the dishwasher. No damage. I don't place this casually in sink or anywhere it might be damaged.

Some people mentioned they're not sized good to fit standard cups. For some cups, you might not be able to center the dripper on top as desired. You may have to scoot the dripper over to the side of the cup instead, which can make things more wobbly if you're not careful. I do wish they'd change the base for more flexibility, but it's workable.

Due to the cup size matter and fragility others mentioned, I don't prep this coffee dripper above my cup. Here's what I do instead...
1 - Start the water boiling.
2 - Lay out a folded papertowel on the counter.
3 - Place dripper onto folded papertowel on the counter.
4 - Add paper filter while dripper still on papertowel on counter.
5 - Rinse filter in dripper at sink, return it to papertowel on counter.
6 - Add coffee grinds, shake it gently to level. Dripper still on papertowel.
7 - Wait for boil.
8 - When water's ready, place kettle next to cup, so everything's right there available.
9 - Place the dripper onto the cup and stabilize it. Don't leave unattended once on cup.
10 - Start the pour.
11 - When finished, place the dripper back onto folder papertowel to catch drips.

Essentially, avoid prepping or leaving the dripper unattended while it's on top of the cup. If you do that, the most risk will be washing, if you bang it against the sink faucet or other dishes.

I am so happy with my new ceramic coffee dripper! It's beautifully hand crafted and functionally perfect. Having read previous reviews, I have to disagree with some of the comments. It's very stable and sits on my cup without any problems. This dripper is better than my stainless steel french press which I left behind at my mom's house, so I didn't have to keep take it with me every time I visited. Thank you ZERO Japan for this wonderful coffee dripper! I will buy again - my only worry is that I might break it because of my own clumsiness. Otherwise, it's very sturdy and beautifully designed.

There were lots of comments mentioning the instability and tipping. I'm glad i decided to give it a go anyway! It is handmade and so pretty. From my experience, it fits a standard/level-lipped cup. I have a few handmade tea cups that it doesn't work with. That's when the tipping will happen but I'm not worried about that because i have coffee cups. It is not going to fit every cup exactly the same. That's the reality but it is a quality item.
