I'm guessing the purchase of this was my mistake in not knowing the difference between an essential oil diffuser and a humidifier. Unlike regular diffusers, very little scent comes out of this. It is noisy and you can't turn the light completely off while it is running. I diffuse essential oils every day in my home and this is not what I thought it was. I thought also that because the water capacity was so large that putting more oils in the water was necessary as I could not smell them when using the normal amount; not the case; I used double the amount of oils and still little to no smell.

Had an oil diffuser crap the bed on me after a couple years of use, but I liked it's various colors and automatic shut off features of it. So when I found this one, I was happy to give it a shot. So far, after a week of ownership, it is what I would expect. Colors options are nice - they have a bright and a calm version of each color so it's less intense for night time. The remote control is nice and keeps me from spilling water all over the place to see the bottom of the unit where the options are for manual adjustments. Scent is not something that should be rated as it didn't come with scents, rather you can add your own choice of essential oils to it. I gave it 5 stars because I love the oils I have in it. So I essentially gave myself 5 stars. I'm awesome. This unit is pretty rad too.

the price is fair, it works and is easy to use. Not sure if it’s the oil or the machine but the smell doesn’t last long. Does keep the air damp so I don’t have a dry nose or throat in the morning. I live in FL the air conditioning can dry you out pretty bad. I have been sleeping better especially if I have a cold. I would suggest it.
