Programmed and works - check with your dealer or locksmith b4 showing up - Kia Optima 2013 worked!

I bought two different brands, just in case one didn't program or something. I am now of the opinion you just need a dealership that will bend or a locksmith that has done this kind of thing before. One dealer said $75 and one dealer said "No after market" - if you are reading this, you know how expensive it is do buy and have it done at the dealer. I called a locksmith and let him know the care make and model. Of the two, this one came in a box and so chose it to program. It did take at least 16mins to program, but locksmith said this remote was pretty straight forward. I had hoped I could program a few (i.e. the other one I got), but my car only can accept 2 remotes. All good. It cost me $40 bucks (prog) and I tipped him $10 - I still had the old key so didn't need new cut (that seems to be another $80-90).

Nice OEM knockoff but with a catch
Reviewed in the United States on October 15, 2022

This was an inexpensive OEM key fob knockoff that works great once programmed. However, after only a month and less than 200 miles driving the car it leaves me stranded 30 minutes from home because the knockoff battery thats in it died without warning. So if you purchase this please buy yourself some 2032 size batteries so what happened to me doesn’t happen to you.

Caveat emptor should be Amazon’s motto

I bought this as a spare key for a 2013 sonata hybrid. First thing you need to know is that you cannot program it yourself, you have to bring it to a car locksmith. Dealerships will not program aftermarket key fobs and there’s a reason for this. Got it programmed just fine for around 65 bucks back in January but a few days ago it stopped working reliably. Sometimes the car recognizes it and sometimes it doesn’t; luckily, the key still works when you stick it in the center console. However I fear for its long-term viability. The seller did get back to me when I got in touch about this, and offered to replace it for 15 bucks. And I said no because I’d have to get it re-programmed again so I’d be out another $80 for a product I’m not sure really works. If you’re in a jam for a new key I would really advise you to buck up at the dealership - older models usually aren’t that much more and will work properly.

Dealership/locksmith claim it won’t work but it does.

(What's this?)
[edit] key fob worked perfectly fine. Just keep in mind that the off brand ones are very sensitive and dropping it a good couple times broke it. Definitely a good buy tho so don’t count it out.
Went to several different locksmiths which all were unsuccessful in programming the key fob. Took it to a Hyundai dealership and got them to agree that they’ll try to program it and if it didn’t work no cost claiming “cheaper fobs” usually do not work and will mess up your computer system and etc excuses to get me to purchase one from them for $380. They were able to program it perfectly fine along with fixing my original key fob for the car so now I have an uncut backup that works electronically and The original cut key that works electorically. Will update if something happens to my car or the key fob but as of now works perfectly fine and don’t listen to locksmith and dealership nonsense about how the keys don’t work.
