Worked to fix the Switch

So I ordered this set of rails to fix a Switch that was having trouble keeping Joy-Cons connected when they were attached. The Joy-Cons would function perfectly with everything else... After ordering I discovered the exact same product in a different listing for about $5 less with the same free shipping rate. Unfortunately I couldn't cancel my order when I saw the other product listing because it was already getting packaged for shipment. Oh well.
When I opened the package, I immediately noticed a small scrape on the left rail that removed some of the black paint. There was some oil on the spot so I assume this was seen before it was packaged. Since it was just a very minor cosmetic blemish I ignored it and continued. There was one other fairly concerning part of these. Both ribbon cables had black marks on them that looked like corrosion or burning or something bad. I wasn't sure they were going to work but rubbing at the marks didn't seem to change the marks so I decided to give them a shot anyway.
I followed the iFixit page on removing the rails from the Switch, and had these swapped in probably about 20-25 minutes total. If some thermal paste comes with the shield when you remove it, just make sure to rub that spot on the shield a little when you reassemble to redistribute/merge the paste.
These have been working for the past 2 days without issues. We've probably got 30 minutes of time on them so far, so my concerns about the black on the ribbon cables seem to have been unnecessary. Unfortunately, the right rail has something odd going on. It seems to work fine, but the last little bit you have to slide the controller in is pretty rough. I haven't investigated much yet but it could be there's a rough spot on the rail the controller has to get past, or the pins on the bottom of the rail aren't shifting enough or are a bit stuck. Not sure.

My little one took apart his Nintendo Switch to replace the battery, however, he didn’t keep track of the parts and I realized we were missing the left slider. Amazon provide the exact part we were missing and the price was so reasonable I was able to purchase it without having to save up for the part. I highly recommend this replacement part.

Replacements Work and are nearly identical to the switch parts

I replaced the fan in a switch and ended up snapping on of the rails and disconnecting the other. I figured, might as well try myself before giving up and paying someone else to fix it. After looking up a Switch tear-down, I was fairly confident it would be even easier than the fan replacement (which was a success). I'm not sure if "easy" was an applicable word at all, as the ribbon cables are a huge pain to contort to the right shape. However, after some adjustments and elbow grease, I was able to get the one that was snapped replaced with minimal issue. In the end they both worked, but word of advice for anyone replacing the shorter, left-cable... be sure that thing is FULLY seated, try pulling it back out after you've hit the clamp, because to say mine was a hassle would be a huge understatement.
Still 5 stars because the parts work, I'm not going to take a star off becuase it was difficult. Others are not going to be any easier
