REESE Towpower 5/8-in professional towing receiver locks are the most theft resistant locks in the towing industry. Its superior strength is derived from a patented locking design that does not require shaft diameter reductions which cause weak points. Weak points enable a thief to break the lock shaft more easily and escape with your trailer.

Very High quality and durable lock. This is not a lock that would be easy to defeat. Very happy with purchase.

Not all keyed alike

I purchased three of these. Two of them had the same key (LB020), the third one is the odd ball (LB028). It would have been nice to have all the same key as I have enough keys for various locks already. More keys to pack in my pocket. * There is little thought about customer convenience once they have your money.

Update 9/7/21: 15 months outside on the truck and no issues; it still locks and unlocks like new. Note: I do put a drop of lube or fluid film on the ball bearings and wipe any excess each time I remove the pin - maybe 4 times over the past year or so. A little preventive maintenance will stop the corrosion that happens if you just leave it in the weather (see negative reviews).

Likes: not an insecure wafer lock like 99% of the other products (including the one this is replacing), more secure ball bearing locking mechanism instead of small diameter groove that snaps off with little force (search for videos on this).
I read all the negative reviews before purchasing and the only persistent issue appears to be ball bearing rust. First thing I did was spray some water displacing silicone lube onto the ball+spring part and lube the o-ring with some molykote to improve water resistance.
Time will tell if it holds up, but I'm not going to leave it for a year and expect it to spring open. Ball bearings left outside in the weather with no grease or protective film will rust.

So far so good, nice quality

I read all the review and it seems like the main issue is with corrosion in the lock. I like the build, and it seems like it will be very sturdy and hold up. However I'll report back every 4-5 months.

I decided to spray my lock and the locking balls, inside the and out with some CRC lubricant & corrosion inhibitor. We'll see if that help with keeping rust at bay.

One issue that I had was initial install of the lock. There is an o-ring that I guess is designed to keep water and contaminates out of the lock and the locking balls. It was so tight a fit that I was damaging the o-ring getting it in and out. After applying the corrosion lubricant, it slides on easily.

But again, I'll continue to monitor it for corrosion. I wont use have to remove the lock until mid August when I'm towing my daughters car to college. We'll see then how it does and if I can get it off with no issues.
