It is not the greatest for travel but itll hold your deck and keep it safe.

The case works well. The Steam Deck fits snug inside the box and the power wall-wart fits underneath it.
The foam insert that fits on the lid is poorly glued to it. It feels like a light breeze might pull it off.
The insert for the Deck itself seems like it was purpose cut for the device.
Also this box is really bulky. I know that kind of comes with the territory of a hard case for an item like this, but it needs to be said. Hauling the Steam Deck around like this is a bit of a chore. So if you're going for a slimmer option stick with the official case.
I have not verified that this is indeed waterproof. Will return to this if I find out it is not.

This case is rock solid, and it fits the Steam Deck like a glove. There's a little pocket fitted under the spot for the deck where you can stash your charger, headphones, and other assorted accessories, which I love! The biggest complaint I have is that the clips don't feel tight when they're engaged. When they are closed, it's very easy to flip them back up, and it has me worried that sooner or later the front is going to open. Still, the fitting inside holds the Steam Deck nice and tight, and it is still easy to get the Deck out when it's time to play. I really like the little handle for when I have to get multiple things into my car in the mornings! It makes it a great travel accessory being able to keep all of the bells and whistles with the Deck itself.

It's very secure and will protect your steam deck for almost anything

 After having it for a couple days I can tell it is sturdy and secure enough to protect your steam deck from traveling hazards.

From having weight put above this case to 6 ft drops the case will remain almost intact, maybe will show some scratches if it touches concrete but nothing else will break.

The steam deck fits perfectly inside the case, in fact it does fit so perfectly it does not wiggle/move arround when shaking the case. It definitely was designed to fully protect your steam deck even for water damage.

Attached is a video of me showing how good the case is at preventing water from getting inside, I did put a paper towel inside the case and put a lot of water from above and on the sides to see if any drop would make it inside but it didn't happen, as you can see the paper towel came out dry and I purposely touched the paper towel with my wet fingers to give an idea of how the paoer towel would look if there were any drops after opening the case.

Took one star off because if you already have your steam deck with a protective case like i do i will not fit anymore into this carrying case so of course you have to first remove it's case before putting it inside this carrying case. For some people this might be a dealbreaker.

As a last thing I added more pictures for size reference with the original steam deck carrying case (64gb ver)
