It works! I connected all the wires in reverse mirror fashion so I could use an old honda stereo to program a new remote. Now my alarm and door locks work. Weird having 2 car radios, one is in the glove box.

The harness is needed for the 1997 Honda Civic with key-less entry. This harness allows the old stereo to function with the key-less function while bridging over a new head unit. The install was a breeze. I used some wiring twist caps to make solid connections.

Perfect harness for the job

All the connectors matched up and it was easy breezy to install. Just need the right tools and the know how. It sucks that Honda made it necessary to keep the stock stereo if you want to keep keyless entry functionality.
Reason being that the keyless entry runs through the stereo.
In any case, the harness did the job and I am happy with the purchase at a great deal.

So I spent about 5 hours in what shouldve been a quick install. After the headache of testing and going through all my cars harness, I found that the problem was that one of the connections (constant power/yellow wire) in the harness was not making contact. I proceeded to mending it myself as I thought that would've been better than dealing with sending it back and buying from another vendor. After I fixed the wire myself, it worked.
