I don't know how we lived without ratchet straps, but now it seems like we can never keep enough around the house. They are good for everything from helping us cut trees in our yard to holding the kayak to our car roof and everything in between. They have a 400-lb break limit, so I wouldn't use them for our motorcycles, but for smaller jobs, these are just the ticket.
The package comes with 4 straps, and be prepared with your chainsaw to get them out of their packaging. It was like battling a bear to get these free. Once I did, I was pleased. They are just what you would expect from an affordable ratchet strap, with the bonus of a spring-loaded release that is easily differentiated from the underside. If you've ever messed with non-loaded and same-looking releases, you know how nice that is.
I can tell right away that the black coating on the hooks will wear off, like it has on every other ratchet strap I've ever used, but oh well. They do seem to have a nice tight weave and quality metal, so there probably won't be too much fraying or loosening, but I will definitely update if we run into any of that.
