This works well for what I need it for

The primary purpose of buying a hitch for my 2001 Qx4 was to haul my motorcycle via trailer. The trailer tongue weight + motorcycle shouldn't be anywhere close to the max tongue weight spec of 500lbs for this Curt 13156 Class3 hitch reciever; nor the 5000lb tow limit. It allows nice fitment for my spare tire when re-stored under the truck, as well.
4 large bolts connect this hitch to the frame rails underneath the truck, similar to the OEM hitch that comes from Nissan/Infiniti. I recently finished a 400mi round trip with a medium duty trailer and my 400lb motorcycle, and the hitch had no issues maintaining the weight and loads.
On the side of design and looks, I think it looks great! The goose-neck curve in the hitch provides for a "hidden" look to the hitch. Only the hitch-2"-box and some of the cross-bar shows. Everything is tucked up and behind the bumper.
One of my suggestions is to make sure you upgrade your suspension if you're planning to tow near or at the hitch limits, or Nissan/Infiniti tow limits specified on the driver side door-jam (which is also 500lb tonge/5000lb load).
I also recently learned of the term GVWR (gross vehicle weight rating) really means! I means the amount your suspension can hold above the curb weight. Curb weight is the "dry" weight, from what I understand, which means, no fuel, no oil, no cargo, etc. So, this also takes into account the tongue weight which places a load on the truck's suspension. If you're carrying near the 500lb tongue weight, make sure you account for the GVWR, otherwise you might be overstressing the suspension or the frame.
Another point of advice... use some Anti-seize grease on the 8-bolts that hold the hitch to the frame. this makes it easier to torque down the bolts without getting that hideous metal-metal rubbing sound. Remember, the hitch is not 100% formed to the truck's frame rails, There will be some tight or loose areas when the hitch mates to the frame rails. So as you're tightening down the bolts, the bolts will squeeze the hitch to the frame if there is any space between them.
Also, my brother bought the square-tube equivalent (Curt Hitch 13088). However, he had some tight fitting with the spare tire. We returned the 13088 hitch and will get the 13156 hitch as it allows more space for the spare.
Good luck!

Fit perfect! I love it

The install on this was extremely simple. The only real struggles I had were due to the two rusted threaded holes that went unused for many years since I only had brackets on this prior.

FYI, The previous hitch I bought off amazon was the Pro-Series 51046 and it was horrible. I initially purchased it because it was $20 less and had square tubing. I tried everything and it just wouldn't fit. This Curt hitch fit like a dream. I was able to get under the vehicle holding the hitch by myself and press it up into place with ease. I then threaded in one bolt on each side to hold it up while I worked on getting the rest in.

I advise that you go out and blast your existing bolts with penetrating oil right now if you're thinking about buying and installing this yourself. I'd even go as far as removing them and threading them back in with anti-seize until your hitch arrives. They tend to get rusted and corroded, especially the bolt holding on the plastic unit you have to lower in order to reach the top bolts on the driver side.

I had to reuse my factory bolts on the one top rusted hole on each side. I threaded them in multiple times while they were covered in penetrating oil and also used anti-seize on the threads. I managed to get them to work but the kit bolts wouldn't work with them with how badly mine were rusted out.

A floor creeper and jack also made a huge difference. I got all but the two rusted holes threaded in loosely and then used a floor jack to raise the assembly until the rusted holes lined up properly. Once these bolts were almost all the way threaded in I lowered the jack and tightened everything down.

Thanks for the great product Curt, and also a big thanks to Amazon for shipping me this one so fast and refunding me completely for the other brand i purchased initially. I can't wait to start towing stuff with it.

Good product - not very aesthetically pleasing

Okay - I just installed it with my son's help on a 2000 Pathfinder. It also works for Infinity SUVs. They claim it is a 15 minute install. It may be in an ideal and all perfect world but in reality it will take 2-3 hours to get it all right. The actual installation of this receiver will take a couple of hours or so with a helper assisting you (both lying flat under the rear of the car and holding this heavy piece of metal). I say this because it is not as easy to align all four bolts and tighten them using a torque wrench. It is very tight in there to even place a wrench there much less tightening it. So I had to remove a box on the left (not sure what it is) that was secured by 3 hex screws to be able to insert my torque wrench. Preparation time: My Pathfinder came with some triangular shaped plates that were bolted on with 3 bolts to the weld nuts. You have to get rid of them prior to installing this unit. Add another couple of hours to take them out. They don't mention this in the manual. Finally, this is well built & good quality product but it looks kind of ugly after you install it. The entire curvy portion with the square ball receiver actually protrudes out beyond the bumper. Not very pleasant to look at. It is functional and will work if you don't care for the looks. The tire went back in perfectly - there is ample space.
