About Us

When Asa Phillips started Auto Ventshade (AVS) in 1935, there was no way he could envision that, over 80 years later, AVS would be an industry force with an international presence. His company was built around the Ventshade, a metal device that mounted above car windows letting fresh air in while keeping rain and bad weather out. This gave rise to the invention of Ventvisor and the side window deflector category. As the popularity of the Ventshade grew, Mr. Phillips’ son, Asa Phillips Jr., introduced the Ventvisor side window deflector in plastic. Installed on a 1998 Econoline Super Duty. Helps the install if you have a second person. It says no drilling but right on the instructions it has a picture of a drill and they supply you with optional self tapping screws, which I recommend using. The 4 double sided adhesive pads they give you are good quality and would work fine if you don't plan on opening the hood much. I had to cut mine with a dremel to clear the blind spot mirror but that is a problem particularly to my situation. All in all I am happy with it.

I love how it makes my van look. I have a 2000 Ford f150 Econoline (Osage) style White in color. I love how easy it was to install. I could slide it on the hood to see where it would go and then all I had to do is remove the adhesion strips and it stayed in place. I was happy how it looked, I got as close to the edge as I could I then drilled it. I do not suggest a hand screw driver... use a portable drill. Boom.. done. Then add the bumper stoppers on the corners (edge) of hood which I have to say is a very strudy product.
